What a beautiful Monday Morning! I'm sitting on my carport made into a patio, sipping coffee and listening to the birds sing. I think I'll start every morning this way. Java likes it, too!

How it began
A little over a month ago, the day after my 56th birthday, was the launch of my new beginnings. Steven and Ratio had just pulled off in the U-Haul truck, heading to Texas. I was packing boxes for the move to my new house the next day.
The move wasn't fun, and if it hadn't been for my Mom's persistence, I would still have unpacked boxes in every room. But Mom is a smart woman! Even before the move, she took me shopping for curtains and a comforter set. Then each day after the move she would have an agenda for what we needed to do to get the house set up. One day we hung curtains, on another day we unpacked boxes and arranged furniture. By the end of the week, I was so tired and told her she was bossy!! I think it hurt her feelings because then she backed off some. But as I sit here today, I am so thankful for her bossiness because I am unpacked and can sit here enjoying my new home. I am going to stop writing here and call to tell her that.
The new curtains Mom bought me really made the rooms feel cheery and comfortable. The perfect final touch was the area rugs given to me by my friend Myra. I cannot express the contentment and happiness I feel in this house. Just a month ago I had to be away from my home to feel happy, and I had not felt contentment in several years. I can't explain how "single" and "alone" can equate to happiness and contentment... It's mostly about being free and independent and empowered to live life the way I want to live it. It feels good!! Fabulous even!!
Last Friday, March 14, I invited my friends over to see my house and to help me celebrate the New Beginnings. I bought a crazy daisy bouquet for the table, and had plate, cups, and napkins in bright spring colors. I was amazed when 17 people showed up! I love entertaining and was thrilled that my friends were so supportive and happy about my new life.
So today I am taking a day off from work to enjoy home! It's Spring Break, I don't have a class to teach. I don't have any place I need to be. No one is here making any demands for my time. I am loving it!!
